² On the fifth day of the month (it was ^(A)the fifth year of ^(B)the exile of King Jehoiachin), ³ the word of the Lord came to Ezekiel ^(C)the priest, the son of Buzi, in the land of the Chaldeans by ^(D)the Chebar canal, and ^(E)the hand of the Lord was upon him there.

⁴ As I looked, behold, ^(F)a stormy wind came ^(G)out of the north, and a great cloud, with ^(H)brightness round it, and fire flashing forth continually, and in the midst of the fire, ^(I)as it were gleaming metal.^[a]
